The fine print
Terms
Last updated: August 19, 2026
This is an independent, unofficial public-opinion project. It is not affiliated with, authorized by, endorsed by, funded by, or operated on behalf of Nate Erskine-Smith, any candidate, campaign, political party, constituency association, or Elections Ontario.
1. What this site is
Did You Ask Nate? asks visitors one informal question and publishes the aggregate yes/no tally. It is not an election, official petition, voter-registration service, candidate-authorized campaign communication, or scientific opinion poll. A response on this site has no official status or effect.
2. Tally limitations
Participation is voluntary and self-selected. The site does not verify a visitor’s identity, age, citizenship, residence in Ontario, eligibility to vote, or whether their answer is factually accurate. Basic technical measures limit repeat responses from the same browser, but no online tally is immune to manipulation. Do not treat these results as representative of Ontarians or any electorate.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to interfere with the site or distort its tally, including by:
- using bots, scripts, automated requests, or coordinated repeat voting;
- attempting to bypass response limits or security controls;
- probing, disrupting, or overloading the service; or
- misrepresenting the tally as official, verified, or scientifically representative.
4. Availability and changes
The site and tally are provided “as is” without guarantees of accuracy, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose. We may correct errors, remove manipulated responses, change or discontinue the site, or update these terms at any time.
5. Names and trademarks
References to public figures, organizations, and political parties are descriptive only and do not imply endorsement or affiliation. All associated names and marks belong to their respective owners.
6. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Ontario. Nothing on this website is legal advice or an authorization statement for a candidate or registered political advertiser.
